Legal information & privacy details.
This page explains how this tiny, independent server is intended to be used, what is and is not logged, and where your responsibilities begin.
Privacy Policy
This section describes, in plain language, the limited information this service processes when you use TikTok Archiver. It is intentionally minimal; it is not a contract or legal advice.
1. Data you actively provide
- Profile or link you submit: When you paste a TikTok username or profile URL, it is used to drive the scan and build your archive. It may be stored as part of the job record so the server can resume and report progress.
- Optional support information: If you choose to tip via PayPal, all payment details (card, bank, PayPal login, etc.) are handled entirely by PayPal. This service only sees what PayPal exposes on the receipt (for example, that a payment happened and the amount), not your full financial data.
2. Data automatically collected
- IP address and basic request info: Your IP address and basic HTTP request metadata (such as browser type, approximate region, and timestamps) may be logged to operate rate limiting, detect abuse, and troubleshoot reliability issues.
- Job metadata: For each archive job, the server stores a generated job ID, your IP (to enforce one active job per IP), approximate progress counts, timestamps, and an internal path to the temporary ZIP file so it can be served back to you.
- Minimal operational logs: Errors, performance anomalies, and aggregate usage statistics may be recorded to help keep the service stable and secure. These logs are focused on keeping the system healthy, not tracking any one user’s behaviour.
- Security-related events: When abuse or automated attacks are detected, additional technical details (for example, repeated failing requests from the same source) may be logged in order to block or mitigate them.
3. Cookies, local storage, and browser data
- Local history: Your recent jobs are stored in your own browser using localStorage so you can reconnect to them after a refresh. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share a job ID.
- Security challenges: When Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled, it may set its own cookies or local storage entries to operate the challenge. Those are governed by Cloudflare’s own policies.
- No ad or analytics cookies: This site does not embed advertising trackers or third‑party analytics scripts.
4. Use of third-party services
- TikTok: TikTok is contacted only as needed to retrieve the content you explicitly request. This project is not affiliated with TikTok.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: May be used to present a bot‑protection challenge. Cloudflare receives data necessary to operate that challenge (e.g., IP, browser/device details).
- PayPal: Handles any tips or donations. All sensitive payment data is processed by PayPal; this site receives only high‑level transaction information.
- Hosting provider: The underlying server is hosted by a third‑party provider which may have its own logging and security practices at the infrastructure level.
5. Data retention
- Archives: ZIP archives created for you are typically retained for about a week (the period during which the download link is valid) and then automatically deleted from disk by a cleanup process.
- Job records: Lightweight job metadata (job IDs, timestamps, status, and basic counts) is kept only as long as needed to operate the service, investigate reliability issues, and protect against abuse. Where possible, information may be aggregated or removed over time instead of being kept in fully identifiable form.
- Server logs: System‑level logs are rotated and may be stored in aggregated form. They are used for operations and security, not for creating marketing profiles of individual users.
6. Who your data is shared with
- No sale of personal data: Your data is not sold to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
- Service providers: Limited data is shared with infrastructure providers that make the service work (for example, the hosting provider, Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection, and PayPal for payments). Those providers process data under their own privacy terms.
- Legal requirements: Information may be disclosed if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of others.
7. Your choices and responsibilities
- You can clear your local job history at any time using the “Clear history” button in the interface or by clearing your browser’s site data.
- Only submit accounts or content you are lawfully allowed to back up. If you are unsure about your rights in your jurisdiction, you should seek qualified legal advice before using this tool.
- If you do not agree with this limited use of data, you should not use the service.
This project may be updated over time. Material changes to how data is handled will be reflected on this page.
